Wyse Virtualization Software

Wyse's vision is to provide customers with thin computing benefits without any compromises on the end-user experience. Wyse TCX is the cornerstone to delivering on this vision. It provides an "Enrichment" component within the thin computing infrastructure during the access to corporate applications -- irrespective of the backend infrastructure used to access them.

There are a number of different components in this overall brand of solutions that are being developed by Wyse. All Wyse TCX solutions are agnostic of the backend infrastructure so customers can get access to this solution when they are connecting to any of the following datacenter solutions prevalent in the market: Microsoft® Terminal Services, Citrix® XenApp and VMware® Virtual Desktop Infrastructure.

Wyse TCX Solutions also have collaborative processing architecture (CPA) built-in to them. CPA intelligently divides the workload between the server and client, reducing the need for larger servers, while delivering the best thin client experience yet. CPA works with Wyse thin clients and the Citrix® ICA® and Microsoft® RDP protocols to significantly improve user experience. Unlike protocols that replace ICA or RDP, Wyse’s approach adds functionality, but shifts the processing workload to the client CPU when appropriate.

The following components are now available.

Wyse TCX Multimedia

rich MultimediaWyse TCX Multimedia 3.0 is a software solution that streamlines the delivery of the multimedia stream to the local client for a rich user experience within a thin computing architecture.

Wyse TCX Multimedia software provides rich multimedia playback capabilities within an ICA or RDP connection. Wyse TCX Multimedia is a software layer which has both the server and client components that work intelligently to redirect multimedia processing tasks dynamically between the client and server. The multimedia stream is decoded locally on the client using the local processing power of the device thereby providing complete multimedia playback capabilities overcoming any limitations that are inherent in traditional thin computing architectures.

Wyse TCX Multi-display

True Multi-display Wyse TCX Multi-display 1.2 virtualization software makes virtual desktops and applications multi-monitor aware over RDP and ICA connections.

Wyse TCX Multi-display 1.2 is the software that provides multiple monitor awareness for virtual desktops and applications over ICA, RDP connections in VDI and terminal services environments, using Wyse thin clients. Instead of trying to consolidate everything in one monitor that could limit users to many minimized or resized windows, Wyse users can now easily open windows and applications side by side on up to 4 monitors and leverage the extra screen real estate. This helps increase end user’s work productivity and satisfaction. Wyse TCX Multi-display 1.2 now adds virtual channel support to enable logon GINA dialog box positioning. RemoteApp support for Windows Server 2008 is also enabled.

Users have total control over dialog box and message box positioning. They can recall and reopen applications at positions where they were previously closed. Users can also configure exclusion list for applications to apply or not apply the multi-display settings.

Wyse TCX USB Virtualizer

USB Peripheral SupportSimple and Revolutionary, Wyse TCX USB Virtualizer software makes client attached USB devices visible to virtual desktops and applications.

Wyse TCX Virtualizer™ 2.0 is a software solution that enables the discovery of local USB devices plugged into Wyse thin clients directly into a virtual desktop environment. This extraordinary enhancement solves the USB peripheral issues when it comes to deploying thin clients. No more compromise on limited local device drivers. Supported devices include an unprecedented broad range of USB-based printers, scanners, storage devices, Palm, BlackBerry, Pocket PC handhelds, webcams and headsets. Wyse TCX Virtualizer™ 2.0 redirects the USB drivers installed in the virtual desktop to the Wyse thin clients and functions as an intelligent virtual USB driver bridge traversing the network.

Wyse TCX Rich Sound

True Multi-displayWyse TCX Rich Sound virtualization software enables the deployment of virtual desktops and applications capable of receiving and transmitting audio without compromise.

Wyse TCX Rich Sound 1.0 is the software that provides bi-directional audio capabilities for virtual desktops and applications on RDP connections in VDI environment. Users can now use a USB headset directly attached to the Wyse thin client to input and output audio to and from an IP soft phone application running in a Windows XP Pro virtual desktop. This revolutionary technology broadens the reach of VDI deployments by enabling support for users requiring special audio input-output capabilities.
